METHOD OF APPLICATION

Prospective students should request information and application materials from their chosen educational institutions. We encourage them to explore various resources such as the school’s websites, handbooks, and local information sessions to help them decide which institution and course is right for them.

Applicants should inform the educational institution of their intention to apply for admission and express their interest in the ADB–JSP Scholarship. They need to complete the institution’s application form and provide the necessary documents, including the ADB–JSP Information Sheet form. It’s crucial to ensure that all documents are accurate and complete to avoid potential issues with processing or scholarship termination if any false information is later discovered.

Applicants must also submit their most recent Income Tax Return or a certification of their annual or monthly salary, whichever is applicable. Additionally, they should provide a certification of their family’s income, which includes their parents’ income.

The educational institution will assess and rank applicants based on its own selection criteria, taking into account the ADB’s eligibility requirements and selection criteria. During the evaluation process, the institution may reach out to candidates for additional information. They will then submit a list of ranked applicants to the ADB, along with details about the scoring system used for ranking.

The ADB will review the submissions from the educational institutions and recommend scholarship recipients based on its own selection criteria to the Executive Director of Japan for formal approval.

Once approved by the Executive Director of Japan, the ADB will notify the educational institutions of the successful candidates.

The educational institutions will inform all applicants about the results of the selection process and begin preparations for the scholarship recipients to begin their studies.

Scholarship recipients will be required to sign an Acceptance of Scholarship Award agreement in which they commit to returning to their home country after completing their studies. They will also be subject to a two-year employment restriction within the ADB Group following the completion of their academic program.

Finally, the ADB will send a congratulatory letter to each scholarship recipient.
