SCOPE
The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) has been instrumental in generating over $1.2 billion to support over 720,000 scholarships for students enrolled in 52 Arkansas higher education institutions, including both public and private colleges. Nearly 92% of the lottery revenue is allocated to prizes, scholarships, retailer commissions, and various expenses within the state of Arkansas. Since its inception in 2009, the ASL has significantly contributed to the educational aspirations of numerous students in the region.

Over 720,000 college scholarships have been granted to residents of Arkansas. The lottery has given out prizes exceeding $4.5 billion to players, approximately $381 million in commissions to retailers, and contributed over $165 million in state and federal tax earnings.

SCHOLAR BENEFITS AND AWARD
The due date for students to apply for the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship, for enrollment in a two- or four-year college or university, is October 3rd.
- The scholarship amounts for the Arkansas Academic Challenge are as follows:
- For a four-year college: First year – $1,000; Second year – $4,000; Third year – $4,000; Fourth year – $5,000.
- For a two-year college: First year – $1,000; Second year – $3,000.
Additionally, the lottery also supports various other scholarships.
The Arkansas Workforce Challenge Scholarship is accessible to students pursuing certifications in high-demand occupations, such as healthcare, manufacturing, and information technology. The amount awarded may be $800 for a single program of study. Students need to apply at least 30 days before starting an eligible program.
The Arkansas Concurrent Challenge Scholarship offers financial incentives to eligible junior or senior high school students who wish to begin college courses early. The scholarship grants $125 per credit for up to two concurrent credit courses each semester.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
The Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship caters to both conventional and non-traditional students, irrespective of their academic standing. It is open to recent high school graduates, current college students, first-time college enrollees, and those returning to college after a hiatus.
To qualify for this scholarship, students must have resided in Arkansas for a minimum of 12 months before enrolling and achieve a score of at least 19 on the ACT.
Continuing to meet scholarship requirements necessitates maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.5.
