Ashinaga introduces the “Ashinaga Africa Initiative” with the goal of providing advanced education to 20 outstanding students from Sub-Saharan African nations annually, including some of the most economically disadvantaged countries. The initiative aims to nurture these students to become influential professionals in their respective countries.
Ashinaga actively seeks and evaluates potential candidates who are academically gifted but financially unable to apply to universities due to being orphaned or bereaved. These students are offered an intensive six-month study camp at Ashinaga’s facilities, Kokorojuku, located in Uganda and Senegal. During this camp, they receive dedicated support and guidance to enhance their knowledge in various subjects and languages, preparing them to apply to esteemed universities worldwide. Additionally, Ashinaga provides a comprehensive scholarship covering tuition and living expenses for four years while they pursue their studies abroad.
The ultimate vision for Ashinaga is to witness these educated youths return to their home countries and contribute to the establishment of democratic and prosperous societies, resulting in higher national income and improved education standards. This movement is expected to have a lasting impact on Sub-Saharan countries by breaking the cycle of poverty, although its effects may not be immediate, unlike the immediate impact of food or equipment donations.
It is predicted that the African population will surpass three billion by the end of this century. Ashinaga believes that by creating a promising future for Africa, a continent with immense potential, the prospects of global humanity will also shine brightly.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Passport-Style Photograph: A recent passport-style photograph of the applicant is needed. Make sure it meets the specifications for size and background color.
Passport or National ID Card: A valid passport or national ID card is required for identification purposes.
Birth Certificate of Applicant: The applicant’s birth certificate is necessary to verify their age and personal details.
Death Certificate of Deceased Parent(s) or Alternative Documentation: In case of orphan status or the death of a parent, the death certificate of the deceased parent(s) is needed.
Term Reports/Secondary School Transcripts (Last 2 Years): Academic records from the last two years of secondary school are required to assess the applicant’s academic performance.
Final Secondary School Examination Certificate: The certificate showing grades in each subject from the final secondary school examination is a vital document.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates are required to:
Be individuals who have experienced the demise of either one or both of their parents.
Have successfully finished their high school education and obtained the outcomes of their country’s secondary school evaluation (degrees related to technical and vocational studies will not be considered) in the preceding two years (any day after August 1, 2021, up to and including all of 2022 and 2023), or they must be on track to complete their high school education and receive their final examination results before February 9th, 2024.
Have been born on a date later than September 1, 2001.
Inability to afford attending a foreign university without external financial aid.
Possess fluency in either English, French, or Portuguese languages.
Consistently rank within the top percentile (top 10%) of their class for the last 2 to 3 years of secondary school.
Participate in both of the Ashinaga preparatory programs, spanning one year, before commencing university studies.
Display a strong commitment to returning to their home country or Sub-Saharan Africa, contributing to the region after completing their university education.
Not have any dependents that might hinder academic advancement.
Have a good enough health condition to be able to study abroad.
METHOD OF APPLICATION

Application Procedure: Each student who enrolls in the program will be sent an email containing a unique link to access the application form within one month of their registration, provided they meet the program’s eligibility criteria.
