The Chevening Scholarship is a fully-funded opportunity that covers all expenses for studying for a Master’s degree in the UK, including:
- Full payment of tuition fees for a Master’s degree program, valued at up to £18,000.
- Coverage of travel costs to and from the UK.
- Payment of visa application charges.
In addition, a monthly allowance is provided for living expenses and accommodation. The exact amount will be specified in your acceptance letter and will be higher if you choose to study in London.
An extra allowance is given to help with the expenses of attending mandatory Chevening events, which are usually held in London.

Tuition fees: The scholarship covers the complete cost of tuition fees for eligible Master’s programs at UK universities, with a maximum limit of £18,000.
Travel: Scholars receive funding for economic travel to and from the UK. This covers a round-trip flight from the scholar’s home country to the UK, along with any necessary connecting flights.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Applications that don’t meet the requirements will not be accepted. So, it’s important to ensure you meet our qualifications before you begin your application.
You need to be a citizen of a country or area that’s eligible for the Chevening program.
After you complete your Chevening scholarship, you have to go back to your home country for at least two years.
You should have finished all the parts of an undergraduate degree that allow you to get into a postgraduate program at a UK university by the time you submit your application. This usually means having an upper second-class 2:1 honors degree in the UK, but it might be different depending on your chosen course and university.
You need to have worked for at least two years (which is about 2,800 hours).
You have to apply to three different UK university courses that are eligible for Chevening and get an unconditional offer from one of them by July 13, 2023.
YOU CAN’T GET A CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIP IF:
You’re a British citizen or have dual British citizenship, unless you’re a citizen of a British Overseas Territory or you’re from Hong Kong and have a BN(O).
You have refugee status in a country that’s not eligible for Chevening. If you’re from an eligible country and have refugee status in another eligible country, you can still apply.
You are currently employed, were previously employed, or are related to someone who works for His Majesty’s Government or certain affiliated organizations within the past two years of Chevening applications opening.
This includes places like the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, British Embassies/High Commissions, Home Office, Ministry of Defence, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Department for International Trade, UKVI, British Council, sponsoring UK universities, or the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
You’re currently employed, were previously employed, or are related to someone who works for a Chevening Partner organization within the past two years. If your employment falls within the last two years, you can’t get a Chevening Partner Award from that organization.
You’ve studied in the UK before with funding from a UK Government scholarship.
