FACT CHECK: Which Artists Win Grammy Awards | Grammy Awards 2024 Winner List

In a disappointing turn of events, none of the Nigerian artists, including Davido, Burna Boy, Asake, Baddo, and Ayra Starr, secured an award at the 66th Grammy Awards ceremony held at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

Despite their combined 10 nominations in various categories, the coveted Grammy eluded these artists, leaving them without any accolades. Back in November 2023, the anticipation was high as the five artists received nominations for the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Notable Winners

Best African Music Performance

  • Amapiano by Asake and Olamide
  • City Boys by Burna Boy
  • Water by Tyla (Winner)
  • Unavailable by Davido Featuring Musa Keys
  • Rush by Ayra Starr

Best Global Music Album

  • Epifanías by Susana Baca
  • History by Bokanté
  • I Told Them… by Burna Boy

The list of winners continues across various categories, showcasing diverse musical talents. From the Best Rap Album won by Killer Mike for “Michael” to the Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical, claimed by Theron Thomas, the Grammy Awards celebrated excellence in the music industry.

Notably, the Best Music Film award went to “Moonage Daydream” by David Bowie, and the Best Music Video was awarded to The Beatles for “I’m Only Sleeping.”

The ceremony also recognized outstanding achievements in sound engineering, with Jaguar II earning the Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, and The Diary Of Alicia Keys winning Best Immersive Audio Album.

In the realm of historical albums, “Written In Their Soul: The Stax Songwriter Demos” stood out as the winner, showcasing the richness of musical history.

The diverse array of winners extended to categories like Best Tropical Latin Album, Best Gospel Album, Best Roots Gospel Album, Best R&B Album, and more, celebrating the multifaceted nature of the music industry.

Despite the absence of Nigerian victories, the 66th Grammy Awards underscored the global reach and diversity of musical talent, creating an unforgettable evening for both artists and fans alike.
