SCOPE

The State Partnership Scholarship for Developing Nations, commonly referred to as SPD Scholarship, serves as a financial support initiative provided by the Indonesian Government to future global students originating from less affluent countries, enabling them to undertake their academic studies (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate Degree) at an Indonesian university.

The idea for this scholarship originated during the 10th Conference of Leaders from Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) nations, held from September 1st to 6th, 1992. Subsequently, the Republic of Indonesia initiated the offering of this scholarship to aspiring students from NAM member nations in the subsequent year.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s: If you’re 21 or younger, possess a High School diploma, and exhibit English proficiency (TOEFL ITP 477, TOEFL IBT 53, IELTS 5.5, or TOEIC 510), you’re on the right path. Exceptions exist for English-speaking country nationals or those in English programs.

To enhance your application, secure a recommendation letter from the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate, and another from your employer or immediate supervisor if you’re working. Don’t forget academic recommendations and proof of citizenship through a valid passport.

Master’s: Venture into the realms of Master’s studies with KNB Scholarships if you’re 35 or younger. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree and the required English proficiency (TOEFL ITP 500, TOEFL IBT 61, IELTS 6.0, or TOEIC 575), you’re set to embark on this educational journey.

Assemble your application with embassy recommendations, employer endorsements, academic recommendations, and essential documents such as your Academic Certificate, Academic Transcript, and a valid passport.

Doctoral: For those seeking the highest academic peak, the KNB Doctoral Scholarship beckons. With a maximum age of 40, a Master’s degree, and recommendations from potential research supervisors, you’re on the brink of significant academic accomplishment.

Articulate your purpose through a statement of intent, showcasing your passion for studying in Indonesia. Combine this with English proficiency (TOEFL ITP 530, TOEFL IBT 71, IELTS 6.0, or TOEIC 640), and gather your embassy and employer recommendations, academic records, and a valid passport to complete your application.

METHOD OF APPLICATION.

To enroll in the Indonesian Government KNB Scholarships, eligible candidates can click the designated button to access the application page and follow these steps:

  1. Acquire the KNB Scholarship Offering Letter from the scholarship website.
  2. Submit the Offering Letter, Official Passport, English Proficiency Test (for applicants from non-English-Speaking Countries), Recommendation Letter from the Indonesian Embassy, Recommendation from Employer/Immediate Supervisor, Academic Recommendation Letter from Previous Schools, Academic Certificates, Academic Transcripts from Previous Degree, Recommendation Letter from a potential research supervisor at one of the partner universities of the KNB Scholarship (applicable to Doctoral applicants only), and a Statement of Purpose for their studies in Indonesia (applicable to Doctoral applicants only) on the KNB Scholarship website.
