Established in 1988, the Loran Scholars Foundation operates as a national charitable organization, supported by a network of donors, volunteers, and partner universities. The foundation is devoted to nurturing Canada’s future by empowering exceptional young individuals who are poised to make significant contributions to society.

Securing the Loran Scholarship involves a competitive process. Applicants must submit a comprehensive application, including essays, recommendation letters, and transcripts. Additionally, candidates undergo a semi-final interview and, if shortlisted, a final interview.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

The following documents are required to apply for the Loran Scholarship:

Application form: The application form can be found on the Loran Scholars Foundation website. It includes questions about your academic achievements, extracurricular activities, community service, and leadership experience.

Official transcripts: You must submit official transcripts from all high schools or CEGEPs that you have attended.

Reference letters: You must submit two reference letters, one from a teacher and one from a community member.

Sponsorship confirmation (optional): If you are sponsored by a Loran Scholar, you must submit a confirmation from your sponsor.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for the Loran Scholarship, To be eligible for this opportunity, individuals should fulfill the following conditions:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Be entering your first year of full-time undergraduate studies at a recognized Canadian university.
  • Be entering university for the first time in September 2024.
  • Present a minimum cumulative average of 85%.
  • Hold Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status.
  • Be born between January 1, 2002 and September 1, 2008.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 80% (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrate high character, commitment to service, and leadership potential
