CRITERIA FOR STUDENT ELIGIBILITY.

During the examination, students are presented with a series of inquiries aimed at determining their eligibility for the National Merit Scholarship Program. To qualify for participation in this prestigious program, a student must meet the following requirements:

Take the PSAT/NMSQT during the specified year of the high school program. This test should be completed no later than the third year, encompassing grades 9 through 12. Regardless of the student’s grade classification or educational path, this assessment is mandatory.

Enroll as a high school student, whether in a traditional school setting or being homeschooled, and demonstrate steady progress towards graduation or the completion of high school. Additionally, the scholar should intend to accept admission to a college no later than the autumn following high school completion.

Attend a high school within the United States, including the District of Columbia or any U.S. commonwealth and territory. Alternatively, meet the citizenship requirements if studying in a high school outside the United States

ELIGIBILITY FOR STUDENTS STUDYING ABROAD:

Students who attend high school outside the U.S. can still be eligible for the National Merit Scholarship Program if they meet the following criteria:

Hold citizenship of the United States.

Be a lawful resident of the U.S. (or have applied for permanent residence) and have not faced denial in their application. Additionally, they should intend to become a U.S. citizen at the earliest opportunity allowed by law. For more Details VISIT HERE
